What I am thinking about!

…Getting ready to go to freeport. Packing bags for me, the girls and Curtis. I hate packing.

…if I should bring my books with me to study for thursdays exam. I think I am royally screwed at this point.

…why my damn kids are always screaming.

…how I am going to get through this semester.

…how thankful I am for having a wonderful family that has been right there throughout this whole journey. Sometimes I had to push them a little to help, but then again they have to do the same also.

…what other christmas presents I have to get.

…how cute it is when Lily says ” Come on Grace. Let’s pretend to play doctor. You can use my stetha coat. She is so funny sometimes.

…How great my friends are.

I had a good time last night scrapping with the girls. I have wanted to do my albums for a while and finally started them.

Today, Curtis, me and a couple of friends are heading down to freeport to hang out for Curtis’s birthday. We may go to a comedy club tonight and get some dinner, but we are definately going to go shopping. Yeay!!

Anyways, for now that’s all. Have a great weekend.

It’s Tuesday already?

Today, I have accomplished reading 4 of 5 chapters assigned to us for our lecture friday. Got up this morning before the girls did, read one chapter, called the doc because both of the girls are awful coughs, runny noses and sneezing. Went in and found out both just have a cold. So that is good to know. Lily will probably be missing school most of this week due to it, but I just want her to feel better.

I have clinical this friday starting at 7am and going until 7pm. After that I have only 5 hours left on med/surg. Yey!! I am hoping to finish it this week. After that I still have 30hrs. in OB and 12 hours in school nursing and 12 hours pediatric nursing. Then…..clinical will be done for the first semester. I am so excited to get our grades back this week. I think I actually did ok but I want a confirmation.

This weekend, I am going to start on the quilt I told you about. I love to quilt!! I don’t know why I don’t do it more often. I have no pictures to share with you today, so that’s a bummer. On that note, I think my phone is ringing, yes it is. Gotta go.

Sunday Projects and Ramblings.

So today started with a quick trip to Ellsworth for breakfast and a few merchandise returns/exchanges. Wal-Mart, Reny’s and then home. My husband had the day off but spent most of it working on his (junk) I mean car. He likes working on it and it makes him happy, so I guess that’s all that matters. At least he has a hobby and he’s out of my hair.

Came home, got Grace AND Lily to take a nap. I started working on this:

I have been talking about doing it for a long time and I finally started. It’s Lily’s recipe book. I am going to put recipes in it that I like, she likes, my mom likes, old family recipes, recipes I helped make when I was a kid, recipes Lily helps with, etc. I am hoping to do the same for Grace and actually am going to work on them simutaneously. I think that’s how you spell that. Here’s what her first page looks like:

I am new at scrapbooking. I really haven’t done much, so if anyone has comments or hints, please feel free to critique. I love new thoughts and ideas.

Something people may not know is that my nephew Aubrey really likes his pappy’s (Curtis’s dad) tractor. So for christmas I will be using this to make his christmas gift.

It’s tractor fabric, that yes someday will be a quilt. I will post pictures as it comes along.

So, for now I guess that’s all I have to share. Have a good night.

{Good bye Saturday}

Hello Everyone!

Today I went to Ellsworth to pass in my paper for NUR 201. It had to be passed in by thursday so that is a relief. The girls and I got some breakfast at McDonald’s and then went to visit Curtis at his job in Dedham. He was fixing a roof that had a tree fall on it. The house was absolutely gorgeous and actually was considered the owners camp. I met the owner who is a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was very nice and couldn’t believe I was doing school with the young children that I have.

After we left visiting Curtis, we went to Twice Nice, a thrift store close to Dedham. Very nice, clean and organized. I got a few small goodies for the girls. Lily – a small, pocket book size doll house, complete with furniture. She also got a small gund stuffed animal dog. She played with the doll house all afternoon. Grace- a stuffed bear. Curtis- a stuffed moose (picked out by lily). We went to a few yard sales and found ourselves at Reny’s buying some christmas gifts.

I wanted to share a few new pictures of the family.

Hope everyone had a wonderful day. Good night.

I (We) Can do it, right?

So, I just finished watching my last lecture for our test on thursday. I have to admit that my last test grade was no where near where I wanted it to be, so I am really hoping to bring my grade up quite a bit. Jenny and I had a good head start on this yesterday. We did the whole first unit in about 4 hours. I am so glad. It lifts a huge load off us. Tomorrow night, I will  be meeting my girl at her house for a few more hours to complete the last part we need to understand. Tonight I will be finishing my reading. So there is the game plan….

I have to say I just can’t wait for this year to get over. I am so excited about being a nurse and I just can’t take anymore studying….It is just to much, but it’s a little to early to say that now, so I retract that last statement….if retract is a real word.

I was thinking about last year at this time, where I was in school and wanted to share a picture of the girls. It’s crazy what one year does to a family.

Take the time to hug, snuggle, play in the rain, have a movie night, and just act like a kid. Our children are growing up too fast and I try to enjoy every minute of it because time flies!! Have a great rest of the day.
